No Guesswork RFID Protection: Every Card Slot Lined and Protected

Identity Stronghold (IDSH) RFID wallets deliver exceptional value because they use significantly more RFID-shielding material, placed exactly where it matters most. Instead of relying on a single layer of shielding or partial coverage, IDSH wallets are expertly engineered so that every individual card slot is fully lined with RFID-blocking material. This design ensures consistent protection for each card, even as the wallet is opened, flexed, or completely filled. With IDSH, there’s no guesswork about which card slots are protected — they all are. Combined with durable materials and precise construction, this approach provides reliable, real-world RFID defense that doesn’t degrade with everyday use, delivering lasting protection and genuine peace of mind.

Why Testing Our Secure RFID Wallets with Your Access Card Is Not a Good Test.

We’ve received some inquiries from customers who have tested their new Secure RFID Wallet with their work ID cards and found that the wallet does not block the card. This has understandably raised concerns about whether the wallet is functioning as intended.

Our Secure RFID Wallets are specifically designed to protect items operating at frequencies of 13.56MHz and above, including:

  • Debit/Credit Cards
  • Driver’s Licenses
  • Passport Cards
  • Hotel Room Key Card
  • Most Employee ID cards - not all
  • Many building access cards - not all

Some older technology building access cards operate at a much lower frequency of 125KHz. Our wallets are not designed to block signals at this frequency. Think of it like hearing the deep bass from a car stereo—the lower frequency operates on a different level.

For 125KHz HID access cards, we recommend our Secure Badgeholder® BloxProx™ products, which are specifically engineered for this purpose. Please note, though, that some brands of 125KHz cards may not be compatible with any blocking solution.

Rest assured, your Secure RFID Wallet is providing the necessary protection for your credit cards, driver’s licenses, and passport cards as intended.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Will this card wallet block RFID in all of the in "all" of the compartments? Can more than one card be placed into each slot and the bill area and still be protected?

Yes, this wallet blocks RFID signals in all of the compartments, including the card slots, bill area, and zipper pocket.

For best use, we recommend placing only one card per slot, as doubling up can cause extra wear and make cards harder to remove. That said, the zipper compartment can securely hold multiple cards while still keeping them protected.

  • is the clear window for the driver's license also protected

Yes, this slot is protected and will protect your enhanced driver's license. It uses a method of capacitive coupling and detuning.  This method effectively blocks the antenna in the card by making the antenna inefficient and causing it not to be able to absorb enough power to turn on and respond to a query. This is a feature of Identity Stronghold wallets not found in most other RFID wallet brands.
